Child Care Finder

Child Care Finder - an online tool for searching for care in Fairbanks, North Pole, and other Alaskan communities. Use the Childcare Finder to search the Child Care Referral office's database of licensed child care homes, group homes and centers, and approved non-licensed child care homes.

Child Care Assistance

Child Care Assistance - Fairbanks North Star Borough administers the Child Care Assistance Program to help families with the cost of child care so they can work, participate in job training and education programs. On their website, parents can find out if they qualify for assistance. Providers can learn what to do to become an approved provider.

Child Care Referral

Child Care Referral - Fairbanks North Star Borough's Child Care Referral office works with parents, child care providers, and community members to ensure that families have access to quality child care. They provide free referrals and information, so parents can make informed choices regarding all aspects of care for their children

Grow Better Kids

Grow Better Kids Parent Kit - The Fairbanks North Star Borough's Grow Better Kids Campaign identified seven simple steps parents can follow to help their kids become the best they can be - socially, emotionally and intellectually. The online Parent Kit explains the seven steps in detail and provides a list of emergency numbers and community resources available to help parents.

Alaska Center for Children and Adults - ACCA serves people with disabilities. Programs and services include Project TEACH, Speech Language Clinic, and Medical Equipment Loan Closet.

Denali KidCare - A State of Alaska program designed to ensure that children and teens of working and non-working families can have health insurance.

Fairbanks Resource Agency - Community-based services for children and adults with developmental disabilities, and support for seniors with dementia or physical frailty.

DHSS Office of Children's Services - State services intended to enhance families' capacities to give their children a healthy start, and to maintain cultural connections so that all children realize their potential. Programs include: WIC, Infant Learning Program, ICWA, Foster Care, and many others.

Parents as Teachers - An Fairbanks Native Association program to provide parents with child development information to help them be the best parents they can be. Families in the program are provided monthly personal home visits, group meetings, play groups, developmental screening and information about community resources.

Resource Center for Parents and Children - Provides families with support, information, and education. RCPC workshops and parenting groups encourage parents to develop strong parenting skills. Special programs for working with children with FASD, and for helping families in the OCS system.

Day Care Helper - Free online services for daycare centers, including websites, advertising, reports, and communication tools. Ability to receive payments online.

Healthy Childcare - A bimontly publication for childcare programs, each issue includes information on health, safety, medicines, staff health, health education activities, illnesses, and more; including reproducible parent information sheets and mini-posters.
