Alaska IN
The Alaska IN project is a pilot project offered by the Child
Care Resource and Referral Agencies of Alaska. FNSB
Child Care Referral is the agency for Interior Alaska.
This project is a combined effort of the Alaska Inclusive Child
Care Initiative Team and the Department
of Education & Early Development. This project is funded
by a three-year grant from the Alaska
Mental Health Trust Authority.
Program Goals
This project provides enhanced child care referrals to families
who have children with special needs. Extra hands-on assistance
is provided to families to find appropriate child care. A major
program goal is to promote inclusive child care for all children
in the region.
- Enhanced Care Referral Specialists will work closely with
all families of children with special needs and their child
care providers.
- The Referral Specialist can be the liaison between parents,
the child's provider, and other resources in the community.
- Specialized training and consultation for providers who care
for children with special needs will be an integral part of
the project.
- Supplemental payments may be available to providers, based
on the needs of the child through Child
Care Assistance or Division
of Public Assistance.
